Over-the-Top (a poem)

Over-the-Top (a poem)

Hold your moving,
I wouldn’t say lost,
just misplaced,
I don’t want to go beyond
the mountain of meaning
exaggerating,
outlandish behaviour
shaping misinformation.
But I can’t find it
in desk, drawer, pocket,
locker nor case.

The words are still out,
positioned on paper
somewhere unseen.
If you study the bible
– letters of God –
then they interchange, jumble
into a forgotten form, like
sitting and sorting
rubbish out an open bin
into a movable one
without replacing the liner,
saving, reusing phrases
that react.
