Poem #89

Poem #89 by David A. Church

She needs somebody
New to her eyes.
No further excuses
For past excesses.
Fuel burning
Of the ex
Must be altered
To different senses.
Deposit memories
In the bank.
Move to self
Reliance then absence.

She won’t admit
Prior remains have stayed.
No others will escape
Once trapped in the pit.
Feelings exercised
For unseen gain
Must be abolished
To new venues.
Key to display
Some other way.
Give her future
A chance to grow.
